January 2009 3s program

Welcome to 2009! We will begin the new year talking aboutwinter, snow, The Three Little Kittens, and winter clothes. On 1/29, we willtalk about Groundhog Day (2/2). In math, we will emphasize the number 6, andscience projects will relate to ice and snow. The sensory table will haveartificial snow.

 

SHARING

Sharing will resume with children bringing one item.Place the item in a bag with your child's name on the bag. The children shouldbe able to tell us three things about their sharing. You may want to help themwith this. Sharing days are Tuesday for the Orange group and Thursday for theGreen group.

 

PARENTS' MEETING

We have not yet been able to finalize our January meeting.As soon as we have the information, we will post it for you.

 

REGISTRATION & OPEN HOUSE

If you have friends or neighbors who are looking atpreschools, please invite them to call Phelan at 260-0209 and schedule aclassroom visit early in January. Or, they can call Ruth Smay at 446-4166. Theymay also attend our OPEN HOUSE on Friday, January 23 between 11:30 AM and 1:30PM to view the school and learn more about our program. Open registration willprobably begin on January 25. Most of our ENROLLMENT comes from parentreferrals. We depend on you tohelp spread the word about our preschool. Thanks very much to all of you who doso.

 

Registration packets for preschool in the fall of 2009 will soonbe available. Current families receive preference first. New 3-year-olds inMommy & Me classes or returning families with 3-year-olds may also registerearly. Returning families with new 4-year-olds will be placed about January 15.New families may register starting on January 23. However, if you know of afamily planning to come here, you may pick up a registration packet for themahead of time. They can then fill it out and have it ready to return when openregistration begins.

 

SCHEDULE

The schedules for working parents and snack rotation wereplaced in your folders before vacation. Please circle your calendars for thedays you work or the day you bring the snack. Remember, the snack should benutritious and consist of TWO FOOD GROUPS (i.e. crackers and cheese, fruit andnibbles, etc.) PLUS a DRINK (juice or water) and CUPS, NAPKINS, AND PLATES asneeded. Please plan for 24 people.
