This month we will be learning about Spring. We'll also talk about St. Patrick's Day and Easter. The last week of the month starts our unit on the rainforest.
LETTERS OF THE WEEK
This month's letters will begin with R on March 3 and K on March 10. The week of the 17th will be review, followed by the letters A and V. Remember sharing and snacks are always great when they tie-in with the letter of the week.
PILLOWCASES
Each child was asked to bring in a pillowcase to school by March 3rd. We will be decorating them with the handprints of every child in the class, and would not want your child to miss out. If you still need to bring a pillowcase, please get it here no later than Monday, March 10th. Your child will bring the completed pillowcase home after PJ day which will be April 30th.
SCHOOL CLOSED
Friday, March 7th is a district teacher development day and our preschool will also be closed.
STUFFED ANIMAL
On Wednesday we started our program of each child having a turn to take home a stuffed animal for a night. Encourage your child to have patience, as everyone will get a turn with Horton. Please return him promptly so the next child will not be disappointed.
FIELD TRIP
There are no trips scheduled for March. However, on April 2nd we are going to see the play Hansel and Gretel at the Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 East Remington Dr., Sunnyvale. The cost is $7.75 per person, and it will be due Wednesday, March 12th.
Please meet at 10:35 a.m. by the fountain near the entrance, so we can take a group picture before we go inside.
ST. PATRICK'S DAY
Our class will celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Monday, March17th. Please encourage your child to wear something green on that day - a green hair ribbon or stickers will do. Our snack mom will provide the snack for this day.
EASTER EGG HUNT AND PARTY
Our Easter Egg Hunt will be on Friday, March 21st. At that time we would greatly appreciate donations of dozens of hard-boiled eggs that we will dye in the classroom. We will then hide them for the children to find. This will be a party day and you are welcome to send treats. A sign-up sheet will be posted.
WORKING PARENTS
If you answer the phone and someone wants information about the school, please give the call to one of the teachers.
Please remember that you need to be in the classroom and ready to help by 8:45 a.m.
PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION
We still have some openings in our preschool classes for next year. Please help spread the word about our school and its location. Visitors are welcome, although we ask them to call first.
REMINDER
A few people have not signed up and completed a yearly job. Please check the sign-up sheet by the telephone to see if you still need to do this.
DONATIONS are always welcome:
St. Patrick's and Easter items: foam pieces, confetti, stickers, etc.
Clear plastic 2 liter bottles
Housekeeping supplies: Doormat for front door, Swiffer Wetjet refills( pad and cleaner),"Clorox" wipes, one case single fold paper towels (Smart and Final).
