MACC Preschool: Where Learning and Growth are FUNdamental!
Please pardon our dust: site under renovation :)
MACC Preschool has educated children since 1972. We believe children learn best through play and hands-on experiences. In developing and employing our curriculum, we consider the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative needs of each child. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum includes art, science, math, singing, movement, stories, dramatic play, and both free activity time and group time.
Our 3-year-olds Classes (aka "3s") are play-based, concentrating on socialization; helping children develop good listening skills, a cooperative and sharing attitude; and fostering self-esteem. We also support large and small motor skills development. Classes provide exposure to language, music, movement, art, and science exploration. We introduce colors, numbers, shapes, and the alphabet throughout the year.
Our preKindergarten Classes (aka "preK") aim to nurture socially adept, confident, independent learners ready for Kindergarten and beyond. Our curriculum introduces phonics, handwriting basics, reading readiness, and number concepts. It also offers activities in math, science, language, and the arts. To supplement preK, we offer a 2-day weekly program, preK Enrichment, in which students further explore science, math, literature, and the arts through hands-on, project-oriented activities, both individually and in groups. Additionally, we offer PLUS Class, an extra hour of enriching activities and experiences daily.
Both the 3s and preK classes offer drop-off and parent participation options. Drop-off programs offer a nurturing, independent learning environment for children. Parent Participation allows parents the opportunity to be involved in their child's early education. Participating parents earn a tuition discount in exchange for regularly scheduled classroom support throughout the school year.
Our teachers are fully qualified with experience and education meeting or exceeding state licensing requirements. They attend preschool and Kindergarten professional conferences and training throughout the year. They also foster and maintain contact with local Kindergarten teachers. We maintain a 1:8 teacher:student ratio in our drop-off classes and a 1:9 or 1:10 ratio in our parent participation classes depending on enrollment.
